A programme for Public Health Midwives

A programme was conducted for 35 public health midwives representing all MOH offices in Puttalam District on 28th of July 2016 at the Regional Director Health Services Office – Puttalam. The purpose of the programme was to raise awareness through them to “create a comfortable, healthy environment for the pregnant mothers” by reducing the alcohol and tobacco consumption of the husbands of the pregnant mothers’ and to immunize children against the attempts to lure children into alcohol and tobacco through media. Maternal and child health doctor and the sister of Puttalam District also attended the programme.
